The last several days have been primarily working within Nuke to begin tightening up the tree. There were several issues I encountered that I will get into shortly. Some I fixed other that still need work. One problem that I have somewhat resolved involves the rendering out of layers. At first, for whatever reason I could not get the AOV's direct spec, indirect spec, direct dif, and the indirect dif into the .exr. They would and continue to render into separate files. I now can make one .exr that allows me to shuffle out all the individual layers, but Maya still renders out the AOV's into separate folders. There is an example below.
Playblast of the current animation.
The next photos show the updated Nuke tree. It is starting to come together but there are still some issues with light wrap and aliasing around the edges. The overall ship still feels a bit waxy and CG.
I have an issue shown below that I do not know how to fix. I have crated layer overrides to hid the legs but they started showing up in the ground occlusion and shadow layers giving the legs an outline?
The next photo is an areal that includes motion blur. It may be to high.
The final two images are befor and after slight blur and grain were introduced in an attemt to help blen the ship.
